Why no AI?

A choice informed by building with it.

The decision to keep AI out of this app comes from my experiences building with AI. The practice gives a person space to notice what has their attention and choose a direction themselves.

The wider Return Authorship project is about AI and human collaboration. This app is one result of that work.

The question

Where is attention going?

Most of the day runs itself. Return Authorship starts with a pause: notice what has your attention, choose a direction, and find one action to take.

The work

Three ways into the same idea.

The practice library offers 39 short prompts in seven groups. The essays give the questions more room. The app guides a reset through grounding, attention, direction, and an action.

The library and writing can be read without an account. The app has its own terms and a separate place to begin.
